User Experience Design
User Experience (Ux) is the overarching experience the users have as a result of their interactions with a particular product or service, its delivery and related artifacts, according to their design. At Khumbu, User Experience is not just one more component of the product development process, but it is the driving force behind it. We focus on users through the entire product lifecycle, identify the various stages in a product lifecycle where the users are involved and create a compelling user experience.
The process we follow is as follows:
Analysis Phase
- Meet with key stakeholders to set vision for the product and business
- Define Ux tasks for the project; include them in the project plan
- Develop Ux goals and objectives for the project
- Conduct Field studies/Ethnographic studies
- Look at competitive products and make a comparative analysis
- Create User profiles/Personas
- Perform Task Analysis
- Document User Scenarios
- Document User performance requirements
Design Phase
- Begin to brainstorm design concepts and metaphors
- Develop Information Architecture (with screen flows and navigation model)
- Do Walkthroughs of Design concepts
- Begin Design with paper and pencil
- Create Low-fidelity prototypes (wireframes/paper prototypes)
- Conduct usability testing on low-fidelity prototypes
- Create high-fidelity detailed design
- Do Usability testing again
- Document standards and guidelines
Development Phase
- Do ongoing Heuristic evaluations
- Work closely with delivery team as design is implemented
- Conduct Usability testing
Deployment Phase
- Use surveys to get user feedback
- Conduct field studies to get info about actual use
- Check objectives using Usability testing
